Responsibilities

• Operate multiple bindery machines (cutters and folders) efficiently per company standards.
• Set up and complete job work from start to finish according to job tickets.
• Check quality by pulling sheets and ensuring accuracy.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment as needed.
• Maintain accurate job records and housekeeping per standards.
• Assist in training general workers and union members in equipment operation.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

The Cut/Folder Operator prepares, operates, and maintains cutter & folding machines. Ensuring the quality of the final printed piece. The Operator is required to manage and oversee the operation of a cutter/folder machine under the supervision of the Lead Operator to ensure quality in the results, the functioning of the machine, and other quality assurance checks.

Roles And Responsibilities

• Operate multiple types of bindery machinery (cutters and folders) in efficient manner in accordance with company standards for large commercial print.
• Responsible for the set-up and follow through on product from start to finish according to specifications listed on job tickets.
• Pulls sheets according to guidelines to check quality and accuracy of work.
• Performs routine maintenance and minor repairs on the machinery as needed.
• Assists in the completion of records, job ticket information as required.
• Maintain level of housekeeping that complies with company standards.
• Assists in training general workers and lower classification union members with regard to operation of the press.
• Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications

• Some high school coursework is required. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• 2 years’ experience in Bindery Machine Operation preferred.
