Job description

Description

Responsible for coordinating the documentation required by US Customs and Government Agencies for the entry of goods into the US on behalf of importers.

Provide impeccable customer service.

Process commodities identified as requiring specialized handling to reduce risks of liquidated damages and penalties through proper classification and duty preference applications.

Obtain correct classification of goods for customs release using databases, SOPs, tariff books, the internet, or customs resources.

Enter and process various import-related documentation for submission to US Customs and handle all PGAs (Participating Government Agencies).

Maintain and update all shipment documentation in compliance with record-keeping requirements.

Adhere to all international importing and exporting regulations.

Collaborate with internal staff, departments, FedEx operating companies, customers, and government agencies to deliver high-quality service.

Process agency brokerage shipments and handle remote filings as needed.

Perform entry reconciliations and reviews as required.

Follow up on Customs matters and resolve issues promptly.

Perform other duties as assigned. Paid training provided.

Qualifications
  • HS Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 6 months work experience required; industry experience preferred.
  • Data entry/keyboard skills required.
  • CCS and/or broker's license preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, and office equipment.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle high-volume, time-sensitive work independently.
  • Knowledge of customs regulations and harmonized tariff schedules preferred.
Additional Details

Position is remote with on-site training at MEM/FedEx Plaza. Must reside in Memphis, TN.

Work hours: 7:00 am - 3:30 pm CST, Monday to Friday.

Compensation

Starting at $18.00 per hour.
