Job Responsibilities
- Coordinate documentation required by US Customs and Government Agencies for the entry of goods into the US on behalf of importers.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Obtain correct classification of goods for customs release using databases, SOPs, tariff books, internet, or customs sources.
- Enter data and process various import-related documentation for submission to US Customs, handling all Participating Government Agencies (PGAs).
- Maintain and update shipment documentation in compliance with record-keeping requirements.
- Adhere to all international importing and exporting regulations.
- Collaborate with internal staff, departments, FedEx operations, and customers to ensure high service levels.
- Process agency brokerage shipments and handle remote filings if required.
- Ensure compliance with government and organizational policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned. Paid training provided.
Qualifications
- HS Diploma or GED required; no industry experience necessary. Minimum of 6 months work experience preferred.
- Data entry and keyboard skills required; proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, and office equipment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational and interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to handle high-volume, time-sensitive work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to use multiple systems and reference materials, interact with customers, carriers, brokers, government agencies, and internal staff at all levels.
Additional Details
- Starting wage: $18.88
- Pay range: $17.33 - $27.46
- Third shift: 8-hour shift starting between 9:00 PM and 11:00 PM
