Job Summary

IFF is seeking a Customs & Trade Compliance Specialist to join our team. The Specialist is responsible for managing daily customs and trade operations, including customs licenses and CTPAT requirements. They will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliant, effective, and cost-efficient customs and trade flows for the Scent and Nourish Business Units.

This role requires comprehensive knowledge of import and export flows, utilizing experience to mitigate risks and identify savings opportunities.

Responsibilities/Description

• Possess in-depth knowledge of import and export goods, customs clearance, and documentation.
• Monitor shipments and coordinate with customs, carriers, and vendors for timely delivery.
• Identify and prevent violations of customs and import laws.
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting to customs authorities (CBP).
• Advise and share information on customs procedures with internal and external customers.
• Manage customs master data in SAP and other customs software.
• Maintain PGA licenses and permits.
• Assist with customs audits and investigations.
• Process daily zone transactions (E-214) and prepare weekly filings (3461/7501) for U.S. customs, including data verification.
• Follow directions from the Trade Manager regarding FTZ consumption and generate reports as needed.
• Serve as a liaison for FTZ operations with internal and external personnel.
• Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure proper handling of bonded and domestic goods in the zone.
• Adhere to FTZ internal procedures manual.
• Reconcile inventory between FTZ software and company systems like SAP.
• Analyze inventory data between SAP and OneSource before zone entry, ensuring accuracy.

Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in a customs role.
• Knowledge of customs procedures and legislation.
• Proficiency in SAP.
• Understanding of FTZ and CTPAT regulations and applications.
• Knowledge of harmonized tariff codes.
• Excellent written and spoken business English communication skills.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to interpret customs documentation.
• Ability to work independently and accurately enter data.
• Strong collaboration skills and attention to detail.
