Ferrero NAM is seeking a Customs Manager to govern and optimize cross-border operations across the US, Puerto Rico, and Canada. You will lead governance, risk management, and a center of excellence for all customs matters within Finance, ensuring robust processes that adapt to evolving regulations.

You will collaborate with Supply Chain, Tax and Procurement, driving compliance, digital tool adoption, and managing internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate entries and efficient trade.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years in multinational settings or consultancy
  • Degree in Finance, Trade, Law, Supply Chain or equivalent
  • Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) preferred
  • Knowledge of WTO, valuation, trade frameworks
  • Familiarity with Customs Authorities systems
  • Certifications in trade/customs are a plus

  • Define, own, and evolve the customs compliance framework.
  • Ensure compliance across classification, origin, valuation, and trade programs.

About the Role

We have a current opening for a Customs Manager and are actively reviewing applications. Ensure governance and management within the Customs operating model, being accountable for managing and coordinating consistent, compliant, and efficient customs operations across the United States, Puerto Rico and Canada, navigating the increased complexity of the overall Custom regulations in the NAM Area (and globally) and its continuous evolution and establishing, within the Finance function, a structured internal presidium and center of excellence for all the Customs related matters.

Main Responsibilities

The main responsibilities of the NAM Customs manager will be the following

  • Customs management and trade optimization
    • Own the local customs risk management framework, including risk taxonomy, assessment criteria, thresholds, and classification principles;
    • Identify, assess, and consolidate customs risk exposures (classification, origin, valuation, FTA eligibility), challenging regional stakeholders and driving mitigation actions;
    • Oversee the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of customs controls, ensuring effectiveness across entry processes, broker activities, and internal governance
  • Customs policies and governance framework
    • Define, own, and continuously evolve the customs compliance framework, including policies, procedures, and internal control standards aligned with global requirements as well as local legislation
  • Compliance governance and operational oversight
    • Ensure full compliance with local customs regulations across classification, origin, valuation, and trade program requirements;
    • Oversee customs execution quality, including entry accuracy, broker performance, validation controls, and reconciliation processes
  • Digital transformation and technology enablement
    • Define and own functional local requirements and governance for customs digital tools (e.g., classification engines, trade management systems, dashboards, and analytics platforms);
    • Drive adoption of data-driven customs processes, ensuring transparency, standardization, and scalability across the region
  • Regulatory management, monitoring the Customs policies evolutions and changes, anticipating the implication for the Company
    • Act as primary liaison with customs authorities, managing audits, reviews, inquiries, and negotiation of corrective action plans;
    • Monitor and interpret regulatory developments, assessing impact on operations and ensuring timely and consistent implementation
  • Team leadership and organizational capability
    • Accountable for building and developing regional customs capabilities, ensuring alignment with Group standards, compliance culture, and business needs;
    • Lead, coach, and develop team members (where applicable), fostering technical expertise, accountability, and continuous improvement mindset
About You
  • Previous experience of at least 8 years in Multinationals (ideally in the US) or in the consultancy
  • Degree in Finance, Trade, Law, Supply Chain or equivalent
  • Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) preferred
  • Strong knowledge of WTO, valuation, trade frameworks
  • Familiarity in dealing with Customs Authorities systems
  • Additional certifications in trade/customs are a plus

The role requires the capability to manage and influence cross-functional stakeholders (Supply Chain, Finance, Tax, Procurement) and external providers (brokers, advisors), establishing governance, discipline and accountability. Capable of providing valuable advice, from a Customs perspective, that could influence and guide - under the guidance and validation of the Group Customs - the business decisions and initiatives.

The base compensation range for this position is $142,106.00 - $189,355.00. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This range represents the anticipated salary for this position at this time.

In addition to base salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and other benefits.
