Job summary

FastTek Global is seeking a Customs Compliance Classification Specialist to manage import/export classifications, licenses and data in accordance with government regulations. You will work with our Logistics and Customs Compliance Manager to ensure accurate HS codes, ECCNs and related data for multiple Business Units.

Responsibilities include handling entry packets, audits, and post-entry activities, while supporting process improvements and training.

Qualifications

• Assign Harmonized Tariff Numbers, Schedule B, ECCN and related data per import/export regulations.
• Monitor tariff changes, sanctions and licensing requirements that impact classifications.
• Coordinate with Business Units, legal and customs to manage certificates and entry audits.

Responsibilities

• Request entry packets from brokers and coordinate delivery to outside counsel.
• Analyze packets for correct part numbers, country of origin and values, and update spreadsheets.
• Provide weekly status reports to the project team and participate in project meetings.
• Support post-entry activities including protests, prior disclosures and voluntary tenders.
• Assist with product dictionary maintenance and ensuring accurate tariff classifications.

Job Description:

Basic Function:

Position is responsible to ensure that import-export classification related activities related to us and Business Unit(s) are undertaken in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and government regulations. This position is supported by our Logistics and our Customs Compliance Manager.

Accountability:

• Responsible for undertaking and executing day to day tasks relating to assigning Harmonized Tariff Numbers, Schedule Bs, ECCNs and identifying other data requirements for products in conjunction with Customs import/export regulations.
• Data includes but is not limited to CVD/ADD, Section 301, 232 or other HS codes, Other Government Agency (OGA) regulations, licenses, permits, etc. Classification Related - 65%
  • Trade Compliance Related Activities - Including but not limited to:
  • Support management of timely and accurate import & exports in compliance with government regulations, corporate policies and procedures within the organization:
• Monitor changes in tariff or duty related programs including but not limited to HTS, Schedule B, ECCN, license exemptions, CVD/ADD, Section 301, 201, CN duty exemptions. Evaluate impacts assess and execute activities to mitigate. Monitor any changes in sanctions, embargoes and country controls as well as evaluate, analyze, act on or manage actions on tasks; report as required.
• In coordination with Business Units, our Customs Compliance manager and our legal - coordinate qualification of goods, establish process and training and manage SPI (such as USMCA, GSP, etc.) related certificates and entry audits.
• Support post entry activity in coordination with our Customs Compliance Manager and broker including but not limited to Post Summary Corrections, Protests, Prior Disclosures, Voluntary Tenders.
• Support classification and analysis and product dictionary maintenance by responding to inquiries, ensure all items have accurate product descriptions, appropriate tariff classifications, country of origins, ECCNs and free trade Agreement indicators. Where required coordinate binding rulings with our Customs Compliance and legal.
• Execute audits related to imports, exports, classification, free trade agreements, etc. Monitor exports and export control activity, coordinate evaluation and application and maintenance of licenses and permits on behalf of the Business Unit and export service provider(s) if required.
• Position may support, develop processes, monitor and report on activity or requirements related to drawback or other duty/tax claims. Provide drawback and Business Unit management/finance information to facilitate refunds as needed.
• Position may support some CTPAT or other Trade Compliance functions as determined in the course of business.

The type of work would be:

• Request entry packets from brokers
• Save, maintain and markup entry packets and upload them to outside counsel's website
• Analyze entry packets and validate the correct part#, quantity, country of origin, shipper, commercial invoice number and values and other information and update outside counsels spreadsheet
• Provide stats and discuss weekly output with project team
• Supporting the weekly meetings with reports on the status of the ongoing sampling
