About the role

We are looking for a Customs Compliance Analyst to join our Customer Experience team for P&G 4PL operations in Mexico at Maersk. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring full compliance with Mexican import regulations, managing import permits, certificates, and trade authorizations to enable seamless end-to-end supply chain operations in the FMCG sector.

This role requires strong knowledge of customs compliance processes, ability to work with high volumes in a fast-paced environment, and close collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders to support customer success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with all Mexican customs and trade regulations for import operations.
  • Manage and issue:
    • Certificates of Origin
    • Import permits (UVAs, sectorial/siderurgical, etc.)
    • Avisos Automaticos
    • Compensation schemes and related documentation
  • Monitor validity, updates, and renewals of permits and certificates to prevent operational delays.
  • Provide proactive guidance to internal teams and vendors on customs compliance requirements.
  • Liaise with government authorities, brokers, and regulatory bodies to resolve issues and secure approvals.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and compliance records in line with P&G and Maersk internal standards.
  • Support the Customer Experience team by providing visibility, reports, and risk assessments related to customs.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, identifying compliance gaps and recommending corrective actions.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Logistics, Customs, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in customs compliance for imports in Mexico (FMCG sector highly preferred).
  • Proven experience with:
    • Certificates of origin
    • UVAs
    • Siderurgical permits
    • Compensations and automatic import notices
  • Strong understanding of Mexican trade regulations (SE, SAT, ANAM, Economía).
  • Excellent organizational and documentation management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders in a 4PL environment.
  • Strong communication skills in Spanish and English.
Nice to Have
  • Previous experience in FMCG or multinational supply chain environments or consultants specialist in Compliance.
  • Knowledge of Free Trade Agreements (USMCA/T-MEC, EU-Mexico, etc.).
  • Familiarity with digital compliance tools and reporting systems.
  • Lean/Continuous Improvement mindset.
