Job summary

721 Logistics is a family-owned customs brokerage in Old City, Philadelphia, seeking a Compliance Specialist. You will work with the compliance team to ensure import/export activities meet CBP/PGA regulations and advise clients on regulatory matters.

The role requires 3–5 years in Customs Brokerage or Import/Export compliance, strong CBP knowledge, and keen detail orientation. Regular travel to Old City Philadelphia is expected.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in Customs Brokerage or Import/Export Compliance.
  • Understanding of CBP regulations, including HTS classification, valuation, and recordkeeping.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly to Old City Philadelphia.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with CBP regulations and procedures.
  • Review import/export documentation for accuracy and CBP adherence.
  • Advise clients on CBP regulations, tariff classifications, valuation, and compliance matters.
  • Handle PSC/Protest filings and manage CTPAT program.
  • Conduct AD/CVD reviews and classify per HTSUS.
  • Develop and implement compliance procedures and protocols.
  • Handle inquiries with CBP officials on behalf of clients.
  • Conduct internal audits to identify and address compliance issues.
  • Stay informed about CBP changes and industry best practices.

Role Description

We’re looking for an individual with experience in customs brokerage, CBP, or a related field and a working knowledge of CBP regulations to join our team. As a Compliance Specialist with 721, you'll work with the compliance team to ensure our customers’ import/export activities comply with CBP/PGA regulations. You'll review documentation, advise on regulations, and manage compliance processes. Your role is critical in maintaining compliance, fostering client trust, and facilitating smooth cross-border operations.

Requirements
Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations and procedures.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of import/export documentation to ensure accuracy and
  • adherence to CBP requirements.
  • Advise clients on CBP regulations, tariff classifications, valuation, and other related compliances matters.
  • Handle PSC/Protest filings and manage CTPAT (Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism) program.
  • Conduct AD/CVD (An-dumping/Countervailing Duty) reviews and perform classification according to the HTSUS (Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States).
  • Assist with the development and implementation of compliance procedures and protocols.
  • Handle inquiries and communications with CBP officials on behalf of clients.
  • Conduct internal audits to identify and address compliance issues.
  • Stay informed about changes in CBP regulations and industry’s best practices.
Skills and Qualifications
  • 3- 5 years of experience Customs Brokerage or Import/Export Compliance.
  • Understanding of CBP regulations, including but not limited to HTS classification, valuation, and recordkeeping requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • The ability to travel reliably on a regular basis to Old City Philadelphia.

Job Type: Full-Time, In Person

Work Location: Philadelphia, PA 19106

Expected Hours: 35 hours, Monday – Friday
