Summary
We are seeking an experienced SSD / System Validation Engineer to join our engineering team in Longmont, Colorado. This is a 100% onsite contract opportunity for an experienced individual contributor who can independently perform customer-focused system validation for enterprise and data-center SSD products. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of engineering, system validation, hardware/software testing, or related experience, along with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. This role will own end-to-end validation activities for assigned platforms, including validation planning, test development, environment configuration, test execution, results analysis, failure investigation, risk assessment, and automation. Candidates with direct experience in SSD, NVMe, storage systems, data-center hardware, firmware validation, Linux, or test automation are strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Independently plan and execute customer-specific SSD and system validation cycles.
- Perform qualification and validation testing for enterprise and data-center SSD products.
- Own end-to-end validation activities for assigned platforms and projects.
- Configure and maintain validation environments, including hardware, firmware, operating systems, and platform settings.
- Develop, maintain, and execute validation test plans and test cases.
- Develop, extend, and maintain test scripts and automation.
- Analyze validation results and identify failures, defects, and potential system issues.
- Troubleshoot and debug hardware, software, firmware, and system-level validation failures.
- Determine appropriate next steps for failures, including debugging, additional testing, and technical risk assessment.
- Identify opportunities to improve test coverage, automation, and validation processes.
- Serve as the technical owner for assigned validation projects.
- Work closely with hardware, firmware, software, and cross-functional engineering teams.
- Communicate validation results, project status, risks, and recommendations to technical stakeholders.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers and team members.
- Share validation methodologies, best practices, and technical guidelines across teams.
- Independently prioritize and manage multiple validation activities to meet project schedules and customer requirements.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of professional engineering or validation experience.
- Experience with system validation, hardware/software validation, product qualification, or a related discipline.
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting complex hardware/software validation environments.
- Experience working with operating systems, firmware, and system/platform configurations.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to analyze test results, identify failures, and determine appropriate corrective actions.
- Experience developing and maintaining test cases, scripts, or automated validation processes.
- Strong technical judgment and ability to independently troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to independently manage projects and take ownership of assigned validation activities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional engineering teams.
- Ability to provide technical guidance and mentorship without formal management responsibilities.
- Must be willing and able to work 100% onsite in Longmont, Colorado.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an experienced engineer who can take ownership of a validation project from planning through completion. You should be comfortable working independently, troubleshooting complex system-level issues, developing test automation, analyzing validation results, and communicating technical findings. Candidates with a strong background in SSD/storage validation, NVMe, PCIe, firmware, Linux, and enterprise/data-center systems will be especially competitive. This position is 100% onsite in Longmont, CO. Pay Rate: $55–$60/hour, based on experience.
