What You’ll Be Doing
The Customer Support Specialist supports StartCHURCH clients by ensuring a smooth and professional journey through Phase I, Phase II, and Auxiliary services, from onboarding to completion. This role involves guiding clients through document preparation and compliance filings, resolving issues, and fostering long-term client relationships. The specialist balances administrative tasks with consultative customer interactions, ensuring compliance, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients throughout their StartCHURCH journey.
- Guide clients through Phase I, Phase II, and Auxiliary processes, including FEIN acquisition, document filings, and IRS applications.
- Collect, review, and submit necessary client documents; make revisions as needed.
- Provide scheduling support and hold client appointments to review requirements, updates, and service milestones.
- Respond to client inquiries via phone, email, and appointments within company standards.
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions, services, and compliance steps.
- Research and communicate updates to state and federal nonprofit compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with internal teams (sales, bookkeeping, operations, compliance) to ensure timely completion of services.
- Introduce additional products or services when appropriate to support client needs.
- Participate in weekly meetings, training, and team projects.
- Ensure KPIs are met, including 40 customer support calls per day and timely response to inquiries.
- Support resolution of client issues with empathy, professionalism, and compliance focus.
What We’ll Love About You
- Strong communication in English (verbal/written) and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple clients and tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
- 5 years of Proficiency with computers, online filing systems, and HubSpot (preferred).
- Problem-solving and resourcefulness, especially in compliance-related challenges.
- Empathy, patience, and ability to manage stressful client situations effectively.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Associate’s degree preferred.
Client Relations & Communication
- Keep your email inbox up-to-date and respond to all emails and voicemails within 24 hours.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to encourage clear communication and timely responses.
- Represent StartCHURCH with professionalism, kindness, and respect.
- Resolve customer inquiries within one (1) week.
- Maintain at least 40 customer support calls daily.
- Provide weekly productivity reports.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally.
