Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word required.
• ERP data entry experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Send acknowledgements with delivery information to customers after entering the sales order.
• Print pickers, file customer purchase orders, acknowledgements, and associated documents daily.
• Work with departments to ensure orders are handled timely so delivery dates are met.
• Respond to all customer inquiries via phone and e-mail.
• Enter orders into ERP (JDE-based) and confirm promise date to customer.
• Provide customers with price and availability as needed and approved.
• Expedite customer orders per their request.
• Research and inform customers about returns and credits.
• Provide samples and literature upon request.
• Coordinate special labeling requirements and maintain literature inventory.

Sumitomo Electric Interconnect Products, Inc., a Sumitomo Electric Group company, is looking for a Customer Support Representative role in San Marcos, CA (North San Diego Area).

The Customer Support Representative’s primary role is to support customers’ immediate questions, concerns, and scheduled (placed) orders, including unassigned accounts. They provide support through direct and indirect contact with the customer and the Sales Service Representative. This person will report to the Sales Operations Administrator. We ask that staffing firms do not contact us regarding our job listing.

We are located in San Marcos, CA, and are looking only for local candidates, to perform work on site. Relocation not offered.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties include the following (other duties may be assigned):

• Send acknowledgements with delivery information to customers after entering the sales order.
• Print pickers, file customer purchase orders, acknowledgements, and associated documents daily.
• Work with personnel from those departments to ensure the customers’ orders are handled in a timely and efficient manner so that delivery dates are met.
• Assist with various duties, key accounts, and/or special projects as needed.
• Respond to all customer inquiries via phone and e-mail, concerning the following areas:
• Enter orders into JDE and confirm promise date to customer.
• Provide customers with SEIP Price and Availability as needed and approved by Supervisor or Manager.
• Expedite customer orders per their request.
• Research and inform customers regarding their specific returns and/or credits.
• Provide SEIP customers, their customers, and all other inquiries with samples and literature upon request.
• Respond to customer complaints professionally and courteously.
• Provide or refer technical assistance if needed.
• Use various customer portals to acquire order release data.
• Send advanced shipping notices as requested by various customers.
• Coordinate the creation and details of special labeling requirements by various customers as needed.
• Maintain literature inventory.
• Maintain and update the Spec Library.
• Maintain customer contact information.
• Various other operational functions as needed.
• Perform tasks accurately and thoroughly.
• Demonstrate a positive customer service attitude.
• Contribute to “Team Effort” to ensure customers receive their products on time and in excellent condition.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:

• Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of customer service or sales experience in a distribution and/or manufacturing environment.
• Basic knowledge of all SEIP’s product lines is required
• Sensitivity to the customer’s point of view and concerns, and a demonstrated ability to efficiently solve the particular situation is required.
• Must have excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word required.
• Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and data entry experience required.

Preferences:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Work experience in the heat shrink tubing industry.
• A multilingual speaker.

Special Position Requirements:

• This role operates in a professional office and manufacturing environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

Physical Requirements:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be occasionally required to bend, twist, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Pay Range:

$29 - $31 per hour, depending on experience
