Overview

Remote Customer Service Representative (Independent Contractor, W-9). Work from home and set your own schedule while helping others. This role involves representing a client that provides payroll services for people in self-directed Medicaid programs, facilitating caregiver payments.

This remote, flexible opportunity pays independent contractors $13 per hour.

Essential Functions
  • Answering incoming calls from patients and caregivers with compassion and professionalism, and responding to their questions with clear information
  • Making outbound calls to patients and caregivers
  • Actively assisting with enrollment, program applications, and setup in applicable systems
  • Retrieving information to assist caregivers with payroll-related inquiries
  • Utilizing de-escalation techniques when supporting upset or frustrated callers
  • Offering guidance and directions to caregivers and patients to resolve issues
  • Documenting information and outcomes as necessary
About You
  • At least one year of customer service experience
  • Strong computer skills and the ability to offer troubleshooting advice when appropriate
  • Empathy, patience, and a friendly demeanor at all times
  • Ability to handle calls of a sensitive nature and de-escalate emotionally charged patients and caregivers

To be a Customer Service Representative, you will need:

  • A computer meeting these criteria:
  • Operating System: Windows 10 or 11 (Macs and Chromebooks are not supported at this time)
  • Memory: 8GB of RAM
  • CPUs (Speed): 6 processors
  • Hard Drive: At least 500MB of free space
  • Sound: sound card (standard on most computers)
  • Up-to-date antivirus software
  • Access to high-speed, hardwired internet (no Wi-Fi or Satellite)
  • Dual monitors
  • USB noise-cancelling headset
  • Webcam for your certification experience

Where NexRep Contracts

NexRep contracts with people in 31 states. The states not currently contracted are AR, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DC, HI, IL, MA, MD, ME, MN, MO, NJ, NY, OR, RI, VT, WA, and WI. We do not contract with anyone outside the US.

Hours and Pay

Flexible hours within the client’s operations, using a self-scheduling platform to select when you work.

Hours of operation: Monday through Saturday, 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM ET. Contractors service between 30-35 hours per week, with some hours on Mondays and Fridays required due to higher demand. If you prefer fewer than 30 hours per week or no hours on Mondays and Fridays, you may pursue other opportunities within the NexRep Marketplace.
