Job summary

Ewing Outdoor Supply in San Diego, CA is seeking dependable, customer-focused team members to join our operations team. This hands-on role blends customer service, warehouse operations, inventory support, and local deliveries in a fast-paced environment; prior industry experience isn’t required as we provide world-class training from day one.

Candidates should be comfortable on their feet, able to lift 50–70 pounds, and have a valid driver’s license to operate a delivery vehicle on daily routes.

Qualifications

• Prior Outdoor Supply Industry Experience is preferred but not required.
• Must be comfortable standing and performing physical tasks (stooping, squatting, lifting).
• Must be comfortable driving deliveries daily in a Isuzu NRR 650 or similar vehicle.
• Customer-oriented, able to adapt to different customers and roles.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
• Excellent communication skills and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Engage customers and go the extra mile to support sales.
• Greet customers and provide accurate product information, pricing and after-sales service.
• Answer questions about products/services and conduct price comparisons.
• Cross-sell products and keep racks stocked; manage merchandise returns.
• Coordinate with team to deliver strong customer service during peak times.
• Deliver items to various addresses, follow routes and schedules.
• Load/unload/inspect delivery vehicle and maintain safety standards.
• Inform customers about discounts and new products/services.

Responsibilities

• Go the extra mile to engage customers

• Greet and direct customers
• Provide accurate information (e.g. product features, pricing and after-sales services)
• Answer customers’ questions about specific products/services
• Conduct price and feature comparisons to facilitate purchasing

• Ensure racks are fully stocked
• Manage returns of merchandise
• Coordinate with your team to provide excellent customer service (especially during peak times)
• Inform customers about discounts and special offers
• Provide customer feedback to the Store Manager
• Stay up-to-date with new products/services

• Deliver a wide variety of items to different addresses and through different routes
• Follow routes and time schedule
• Load, unload, prepare, inspect and operate a delivery vehicle
• Ask for feedback on provided services and resolve clients’ complaints
• Inform customers about new products and services
• Follow DOT regulations and safety standards

• Prior Outdoor Supply Industry Experience
• Must be comfortable working most of your shift on your feet and performing repetitive physical tasks, such as stooping, squatting, and lifting items above your head.
• Must be comfortable operating and making deliveries on a daily route in an Isuzu NRR 650 or similar commercial vehicle.
• Customer orientation and ability to adapt/respond to different types of characters
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
• Basic math skills
• Be able to lift 50-70 pounds
• Excellent communication skills, capable of building trusting relationships
• Ability to perform in fast-paced environments

• Valid driver’s license
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Good driving record with no traffic violations

• Ability to operate forklifts and tractors in a variety of weather and traffic conditions (willing to train the right candidate)
