Job summary

AdventHealth Shawnee Mission is seeking a PRN Administrative Assistant to support scheduling, revenue collection and records management in a busy outpatient office. This on-site role collaborates with leadership to keep patient flow smooth and maintain confidentiality.

The ideal candidate brings strong customer service, solid clerical skills and the ability to handle phones and in-person inquiries with professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with leadership to provide accurate and timely completion of projects.
• Schedules patient appointments and collects payments.
• Maintains confidentiality of medical records and other sensitive information.
• Organizes and maintains the department filing system efficiently.
• Processes and distributes incoming, outgoing, and interoffice mail.
• Performs daily reconciliation of payments and adjustments.
• Demonstrates knowledge and maintenance of office equipment.

Job Description:

Collaborates with leadership to provide accurate and timely completion of projects. Schedules patient appointments and collects payments. Maintains confidentiality of medical records and other sensitive information. Adheres to the Corporate Compliance plan and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations. Organizes and maintains the department filing system efficiently. Processes and distributes incoming, outgoing, and interoffice mail (including faxes). Performs daily reconciliation of payments and adjustments. Demonstrates knowledge and maintenance of office equipment, including phone systems, photocopiers, computers, fax machines, and calculators. Other duties as assigned. Answers and routes phone calls using good judgment, ensuring messages are relayed timely and accurately.

Hours: 7:30 to 5:00pm
