Job summary

The State of Minnesota, Military Affairs, is looking for a part-time Customer Service Specialist Int to register and assign lodging for authorized personnel, issue rooms, and handle payments at Camp Ripley. You will transmit messages, maintain receipts, and support the manager with clerical tasks.

Qualifications

Job Summary

Accommodate guests by registering and assigning quality lodging to authorized personnel, issue rooms, transmit and receive messages, record keeping, presenting receipts and collecting payments and providing clerical support to the manager. Inspect fire extinguishers in buildings 6-74, 6-75, and 6-76 monthly. Ability to follow simple oral and written instructions. Coordinate appropriate housing for personnel according to the Billeting SOP.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge of:

  • Maintain 100 percent accuracy with all end-of-shift monies.
  • Issue maid service quarters according to established regulation of Billeting SOP.
  • Provide accurate reports as needed and/or requested.
  • Maintain professional, courteous attitude at all times. Use good human relations skills to interact with others.
  • Maintain awareness of a variety of customers, such as civilian agencies, military units, retired military and dependents. -- Provide housekeeping with accurate maid sheets and update as needed due status changes of guest lodging.

Ability to:

  • Maintain physical health and endurance sufficiently to perform work functions.
  • Perform assigned tasks with limited work direction.
  • Keep accurate records.
  • Adhere to health and safety standards set by employers.
  • Report damage left by guests to manager.
  • Understand floor plans, maps, and diagrams.

Must pass criminal background check.

Requires a valid Class D Driver\'s License

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of:

  • Perform clerical tasks.
  • Understand Front Desk operations.

Ability to:

  • Identify, participate, and complete with accuracy all front desk duties and special projects.
  • Recognize and report problems, repairs, and deficiencies to the supervisor.
  • Answer and direct phone calls immediately with courtesy and respect.
  • File documents as required.
Physical Requirements

Physical Requirements:

Maintain physical health and endurance sufficient to perform work functions.

  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds regularly and up to 40 pounds occasionally.
  • Must be able to move forward or backward and bend/twist at the waist.
  • Must be able to grasp, write, type/key, move repetitively, hear, and have visual acuity.
  • Be aware of walking on various surfaces such as even and uneven surfaces, damp, wet or icy surfaces and walking up and downstairs.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
