Job summary

Mid America Pet Food is seeking a detail-oriented Customer Service Specialist to review and accurately enter purchase orders in our ERP system, coordinating with Sales, Manufacturing, and Shipping to ensure product availability and timely processing.

You will support the sales team and suppliers, answer calls, and assist with general office tasks while maintaining high data-entry accuracy and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years in a fast-paced customer service or order management role.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook) preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and data entry accuracy.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and professional phone etiquette.

Responsibilities

Job Purpose:

The individual working in the Customer Service Specialist role will work in a fast-paced environment. The individual will be responsible for reviewing and accurately entering purchase orders in Mid America Pet Food's ERP system, working closely with the company's Sales, Manufacturing, and Shipping departments to ensure accuracy of purchase orders, availability of product, and timely processing.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Accurately enter and process purchase orders in a timely manner
• Problem-solve by researching within the database, email exchanges, the internet, and appropriate personnel throughout the company.
• Diligently follow purchase orders through to completion, working with appropriate parties to quickly resolve issues that delay timely processing.
• Answer incoming calls in support of the sales team, customers, and suppliers.
• Support the company's administrative staff in a variety of general office and clerical tasks.
• Possess the flexibility necessary to multi-task in a demanding, fast-paced technical environment

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a fast-paced customer service role or order management role in a high-volume manufacturing environment
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook) preferred
• Strong computer skills are required, as well as Internet research abilities
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent data entry skills to quickly and accurately review and input data
• Effective communication (both verbal and written) and organizational skills
• Superior phone etiquette and ability to deal effectively with internal or external customers, peers and management
• Shows initiative and able to work independently

• Work well under pressure and maintain professionalism during stressful situations
