Technical Customer Service Representative

Job Description

Q-Lab Corporation is seeking a Technical Customer Service Representative in Homestead, FL. Reporting to the Global Test Services Inside Sales Leader, this role provides technical assistance and education on Q-Lab's testing services, including setup support, ongoing client contact during testing, and creation of cost proposals.

Responsibilities
  • Educate customers about Q-Lab's services via phone or email and determine the best course of action to meet their needs.
  • Assist customers technically with test program setup and maintain continuous contact during testing, documenting all interactions.
  • Discuss project requests with the Inside Sales Leader to review feasibility.
  • Review testing standards and engineering drawings.
  • Create and follow up on proposals for testing at Q-Lab locations, including cost estimates.
  • Represent Q-Lab at trade shows and host in-person tours at Q-Lab Florida.
  • Participate in hurricane preparation activities.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Associate’s degree in a science or technology field.
  • At least 3 years of customer service experience, including extensive written communication.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency with MS Word and Excel.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal, with attention to documentation detail.
  • Basic understanding of algebra and geometry.
  • Knowledge of business etiquette.
Desired Skills and Experience
  • 5+ years of customer service experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a hard science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, etc.).
  • Experience in a testing or manufacturing laboratory.
  • Familiarity with national and international standards (ASTM, ISO, DIN, etc.).
