Job summary

R1 RCM Inc. is seeking a patient registration advocate at our Ascension St. Vincent Avon location in Indiana.

You will support patients through the registration process, answer questions with empathy, and handle information quickly across multiple systems in a high-volume setting. Ideal candidates bring strong customer service experience and are comfortable with insurance details. This role offers daily interactions with clinicians and support staff and requires a compassionate, calm demeanor

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Strong customer service experience is necessary.
• Must be able to pass background check, drug test, and vaccination requirements.

• Gather accurate information quickly in a fast-paced environment.
• Build trust with patients during moments of fear or confusion.
• Work across multiple computer systems to register patients efficiently.
• Answer phones and gather information quickly and accurately.
• Assist patients who may be ill, anxious, or confused.
• Navigate diverse insurance plans and coverage details (training provided).
• Adapt to interruptions from clinical teams during urgent care situations.
• Build rapport and ease patient concerns in real time.

Location: Ascension St. Vincent Avon

Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, 3, 12-hour shifts per week rotating weekends and holidays

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Strong customer service experience
• Ability to pass background check, drug test, and meet vaccination requirements

Preferred

• Medical or healthcare experience (but not required!)

Job Details

For this US-based position, the base pay range is $16.12 - $23.21 per hour . Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
