Customer Service Representative- Customs Brokerage *Chinese Speaking*

Position Schedule: Monday – Friday 7:30AM – 4:30 PM

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • A Brokerage CSR will be expected to ensure timely and accurate operations while providing exceptional customer service within the Brokerage Department.
  • Ability to communicate in Chinese is required, reading Chinese preferred
  • Ensure a smooth and timely customs process flow for all customs related activities.
  • Daily execution of workflow and department metrics.
  • Transfer declaration information from commercial documents or other sources into our customs entry system.
  • Accurate and timely data entry to allow for the build of a complete US Customs declaration.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with the customers and government organizations.
  • Ensure compliance to regulations at all times, both internal and external.
  • Track and Trace shipments for valid data transmission to US customs and Partner Government Agencies.
  • Understand customer expectations to ensure all the elements of the SOP and KPI’s are met.
  • Identify and manage exceptions while also identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Effectively manage and organize emails for timely follow-up.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Degree or equivalent required.
  • Successful candidates must pass a background check.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must not require future sponsorship for employment visa.
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to communicate in Chinese is required, reading Chinese preferred
  • Must have the ability to work overtime in support of the department’s needs.
  • Must be able to commute to the city of Jurupa or Torrance, CA.
  • Comfortable with numbers and basic mathematical skills.
  • Comfortable working in an office environment.

Desired Qualifications

  • Customer Service: 6 months to 1 year experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred but not required. We hire for attitude and train for skill.
  • Understanding of transportation and US Customs documentation is a plus.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, including proven abilities to listen, comprehend, and effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results.
  • Pro-active, strong organizational skills.
  • Strong desire to learn.
  • Sense of urgency and works well under pressure.
  • Team player mentality.

The wage for this position is $21.00-$31.00 per hour.
