Job summary

Motion Industries is seeking a Customer Service Representative to accurately fulfill customer orders and handle incoming calls. Under close supervision, you will respond to basic product inquiries, provide quotes, and enter orders by phone, fax, email, or walk-in.

You will influence gross profit by negotiating selling and purchase prices within set parameters, adjust non-contract pricing as needed, and build relationships to drive repeat business.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 0–3 years of related experience.
• Reliable, organized, detail-oriented; able to communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Respond to basic customer inquiries regarding products and quotes; handle order entry.
• Place customer orders via telephone, fax, email, electronic methods, or walk-in.
• Influence Motion Industries' gross profit by negotiating sell and purchase prices within set parameters.
• Adjust non-contract pricing to meet customer demands while maximizing profit.
• Build customer relationships to drive repeat business and improve processes.
• Source products from branch inventory, DC inventory, or supplier inventory and ensure inventory levels.
• Determine cost-effective shipping methods for orders and expediting backorders as needed.
• Handle customer returns and participate in other duties as assigned.

SUMMARYUnder close supervision, the Customer Service Representative is responsible foraccurately fulfilling customer orders and managing incoming customer calls.JOB DUTIESResponds to basic customer inquires regarding products, provides quotes, and handlesorder entry.Places customer orders via telephone, fax, email, electronic methods, or walk in (countersales).Influences Motion Industries' gross profit through negotiating the sale price and purchaseprice, within certain parameters.May adjust non-contract customer pricing to meet the demands of the customer based oncompetition, while maximizing the profit for Motion Industries.Builds customer relationships to drive repeat business by relating to the customer anddrive process improvements.Orders items to ensure appropriate inventory levels are maintained for customers.May place orders without approval for orders up to $5,000 per line and $10,000 perpurchase order.Responsible for sourcing products in branch inventory, distribution center inventory orsupplier inventory.Determines the most cost effective shipping method for customer orders.Partners with Account Representatives to ensure customer satisfaction.Expedites backorders.
