Job Description: Customer Service Representative

Role Overview: As a Customer Service Representative, your primary role is to provide support and an effortless experience to policyholders. You will work with customers regarding insurance questions, policy changes, and billing needs.

This is an entry-level position in our contact center, offering excellent career pathways into our organization, including additional skill-building opportunities. With a detailed road map for learning and managers trained to coach and guide your career development, you will be equipped with the right tools to build a long-lasting and evolving professional career.

This role will have a 100% remote work arrangement.

Compensation: Base salary is $23 per hour with opportunities for growth. The annualized base pay range is $42,560 - $63,840, based on market analysis and individual performance.

Training Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM EST (First 4 weeks mandatory attendance).

Post-Training Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM EST.

Responsibilities:
  1. Take ownership to ensure exceptional service, utilizing every touch point to build value and strengthen The Hartford brand.
  2. Assist customers over the phone with insurance inquiries, policy changes, and billing needs.
  3. Learn insurance products and processes during training.
  4. Commit to the training and work schedule.
  5. Maintain a dedicated, distraction-free workspace during work and training hours.
Qualifications:
  • Background in customer service, call center, insurance, retail, restaurant, or related fields.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, complex environment while managing multiple programs.
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills with empathy for customers and colleagues.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Internet requirements: high-speed broadband (minimum 10Mbps/100Mbps), wired connection, no support for DSL, wireless, Wi-Fi, hotspots, or satellite without a modem.
