Job summary

US Farathane seeks a Customer Service Representative for its Orion, Michigan facility. You will be the primary contact for customers, coordinating production schedules, releases, and shipments to ensure on-time delivery and responsive service.

Responsibilities include handling production releases, interfacing with multiple departments, and supporting NAFTA requirements. The role requires strong knowledge of EDI and MRP systems, and legal work authorization in the United States.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of EDI systems and related current customer requirements.
• Thorough understanding of customer releases.
• Knowledge of MRP system.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Ensure production requirements are shipped to the customer as released to ensure on-time delivery.
• Back up Shipping and Receiving Supervisor as needed.
• Input manual releases and reconcile any release issues.
• Respond to schedule changes from quality rejections, production changes, or delivery issues.
• Coordinate with Manufacturing Manager and departments on scheduling issues.
• Assist in NAFTA requirements and meet deadlines.
• Notify customers of late or missed shipments.
• Support problem-solving activities.
• Follow safety procedures and company policies.
• Interface with customers, contractors and suppliers as needed.
• On-call 24 hours for customer expedites.
• Place plant orders as back up for buyer.

US Farathane is seeking an experienced Customer Service Rep at our Orion, Michigan manufacturing facility.

The Customer Service Representative is responsible for providing the main line of communication with the customers and support the materials department by ensuring customers’ requirements are met as ordered on time.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assure production requirements are shipped to the customer as released to ensure 100% on‑time delivery requirements.
• Back up to Shipping and Receiving Supervisor in the event of a call‑off or scheduled vacation day.
• Input manual releases as received and reconcile any release or accumulated issue.
• Effectively respond to schedule changes prompted through quality rejections, production increases, schedule changes, delivery issues, etc.
• Communicate with Manufacturing Manager, Supervisors, Shipping/Receiving, QA and Purchasing on scheduling issues.
• Help coordinate and organize the NAFTA requirements by meeting assigned deadlines.
• Notify customers of late, missed or short shipments.
• Assist, as appropriate, in problem‑solving activities.
• Responsible for following all internal and OSHA required safety procedures.
• Adherence to all company policies and procedures (i.e., Quality Manual, Associate Handbook, etc.).
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping in work area.
• Support plant activities toward achieving customer awards and Quality registration (i.e., IATF16949, etc.).
• Help the overflow of telephone calls to the operator.
• Interface with customers, contractors and suppliers as appropriate.
• On call 24 hours for customer expedites.
• Place orders for plant as back up for buyer.
• Other duties as assigned.
