National Beef in Kansas City, MO, seeks a Customer Service Representative to provide exceptional service to customers and sales staff, coordinating orders from inception to delivery. Responsibilities

• Provide support and service to our customers and sales staff while coordinating and tracking order activity from the inception of an order through delivery of the product.
• Work closely with customers, sales staff, carriers, drivers, loading docks, transportation, logistics, scheduling, and customer purchasing and receiving departments.
• Track trucks and deliveries, communicate with carriers, monitor shipment status, resolve transportation or delivery issues, and provide timely updates to customers and internal teams.
• Serve as information provider and general problem solver for order and delivery activity, provide an enhanced level of assistance to account managers, and deliver dependable service and support to their customers.
• Other duties as assigned

Hours for this position: Monday to Friday, 7 am to 4 pm

Responsibilities

Customer Service Representative responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Provide support and service to our customers and sales staff while coordinating and tracking order activity from the inception of an order through delivery of the product

Qualifications

Qualified candidates for the Customer Service Representative position should possess the following:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to effectively organize, prioritize, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Strong multitasking skills and the ability to shift priorities quickly in a fast-paced customer service and transportation environment
• Ability to work in stressful circumstances and communicate professionally with all types of personalities and levels of authority
• Ability to manage a high volume of emails and respond quickly, accurately, and professionally
• Ability to track shipments while communicating effectively with carriers and customers
• Previous experience in carrier operations, transportation, trucking, logistics, freight operations, or a related environment is strongly preferred
• Working knowledge of DOT rules and regulations related to commercial transportation and drivers is preferred
• Must be driven, goal-oriented, self-disciplined, resourceful, and dependable
• Ability to work with little or no supervision

Must Have:

• Minimum high school education or equivalent
• 3 years of customer service experience
• General office skills and computer experience, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Strong Outlook and email-management skills
• Previous experience with heavy phone work
• Strong reasoning and problem-solving ability
• Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume environment where transportation issues, emails, phone calls, and customer requests must often be handled simultaneously
• Professional appearance and attitude
• Good work ethic
