Preferred Materials - Concrete Division, a CRH Company, seeks a Customer Service Representative to ensure accurate order intake and on-time delivery. You will coordinate driver schedules, respond to calls and emails, and maintain product knowledge while upholding safety standards.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in a high-volume call center or related construction experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of DOT transportation regulations and applicable state laws.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen, criminal background check and driving record review.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and be able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates schedules and maintains contact with drivers for delivery trucks and product orders.
• Answers telephone, radio, and email to take and input orders from customers.
• Maintains a strong knowledge of available mixes and schedules orders according to the system.
• Monitors and manages customer expectations using company systems.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

• Coordinates the schedules and maintains contact with drivers throughout the day for delivery trucks of products such as ready-mix, sand, gravel, soil, asphalt, etc.
• Answers telephone, radio, and email to take and input orders from company customers.
• Possesses a strong knowledge of available mixes and accurately schedules orders according to the system.
• Utilizes company systems to monitor and manage customer expectations.
• Maintains strict adherence to company policies, safety/OSHA requirements and procedures.
• Possesses a professional attitude while interacting with peers, contractors and general public
• Monitors any sudden route changes or road construction issues and work with drivers to establish new routes for timely deliveries
• May perform other related duties such as input data into computer, ticket timer, shop timecards, create driver schedule work times for following day, if needed.

Requirements

• Have a strong understanding of DOT transportation regulations and applicable state laws.
• Basic mathematical skills (writing/understanding basic equations)
• Basic computer skills with the ability to learn required systems.
• Strong knowledge of the roadways throughout the immediate area.
• Ability to work in a team environment in high pressure situations.
• Ability to communicate, understand, and follow both written and verbal instructions.
• Must be willing to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays when necessary. Regular and timely attendance is required.
• Must pass pre-employment requirements, drug screen, criminal background check and driving record review.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Must demonstrate a strong commitment to safety.
