Job summary

Sapphire Americas, a CRH company, is seeking a Customer Service Representative to deliver high-quality service to customers and support internal teams with order management and issue resolution.

You will process orders, track shipments, verify pricing, and collaborate with sales, operations, logistics, and finance to ensure accurate transactions and timely delivery. This is a full-time position with growth opportunities within the Ash Grove Cement network across North America.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
• 1 year of experience in customer service or related field.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
• Serve as primary contact for customer inquiries, orders, and issue resolution.
• Provide timely, accurate, and professional communication to internal and external stakeholders.
• Resolve customer concerns related to orders, deliveries, billing, or service.
• Process customer orders and transactions accurately in company systems.
• Monitor order status and coordinate changes, adjustments, or escalations as needed.
• Ensure all required documentation and data entry is complete and accurate.
• Partner with internal teams to support service delivery.
• Coordinate shipments, schedules, or service activities to meet customer requirements.
• Track and communicate status updates on orders, shipments, or service requests.
• Review and verify pricing, invoices, and account details for accuracy.
• Assist with billing discrepancies, adjustments, and reconciliations.

Summary:

The Customer Service Representative is responsible for delivering high – quality service to customers and supporting internal teams through order management, issue resolution, and administrative coordination. This role ensures accurate processing of transactions, effective communication with stakeholders, and timely resolution of customer needs while supporting operational and business objectives.

Whatyou’llbe contributing:

• Coordinate with plants and carriers to manage shipment scheduling and delivery.
• Maintain shipment logs and reconcile daily activity.
• Process freight adjustments, diversions, and returns.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., RCRA, EPA, DOT).
• Manage required documentation, reporting, and record retention.
• Support audits, inspections, and regulatory submissions.
• Additionalduties asassigned by supervisor.

Tosucceedinthisposition,youwillneed:

• Ability to read, write,and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc.
• Minimum High School Diploma or GED required
• Minimum 1 year of experience in customer service, administration, or related experience.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and business systems.
• Problem-solving skills with the ability to escape issues appropriately
• Ability to work independently with general supervision.

What to expect in a cement environment:

Work to be performed in ashopenvironment as well as outdoor exposure throughout the plant.Mild exposure to cement dust, heat, cold, and noise requires compliance with specified safety guidelines and procedures. Exposure to high elevations of up to 250 feet in height. Exposure to all weather conditions. Normal operation of mobile equipment may result in jarring and vibratory exposure.
