Job summary

Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a Courtesy Clerk/Grocery Bagger to provide outstanding customer service and maintain a safe, clean store environment. You will bag groceries, assist customers, and support stocking, shelving, and price checks.

The role emphasizes safety, accuracy in bagging, and a welcoming store experience for customers of all ages and needs. This is an on-site retail position at a Kroger location.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience preferred.
• Strong communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Bag groceries at checkout.
• Aim to bag at least five items without damage.
• Follow best practices for bagging in reusable, plastic, or paper bags.
• Assist in removing customer's merchandise from bottom of bascart.
• Offer to help customers load bags into their car.
• Perform basic shelf conditioning.
• Inform customers of grocery specials.
• Return merchandise to store shelves.
• Gather bascarts and return them to designated areas.
• Clean spills and pick up trash inside store and in parking lot.
• Clean all areas inside and outside of store.
• Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise.
• Understand store layout, locate products, and conduct price checks for cashiers.
• Reinforce safety programs and notify management of unsafe conditions.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Inspect equipment and report repairs needed.
• Create an environment where customers feel welcome and appreciated by answering questions.
• Adhere to all laws and company guidelines.
• Ability to work cooperatively in high-paced environments and manage conflicts.
