Job summary

U‑Haul is hiring a Customer Service Representative at our Howell, New Jersey location. The role involves helping customers, inspecting and maintaining equipment, and using U‑Scan tech to dispatch and return equipment.

On‑the‑job training is provided, with a focus on safe operation of trucks and trailers. The position offers hourly compensation ranging from $15.92 to $17.00, paid interviews, and earning bonuses including a $100 hiring bonus and a $300 certification bonus upon program completion

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a good driving record.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers inside and outside a U‑Haul center with products and services.
• Use smartphone-based U-Scan technology to manage rentals and inventory.
• Move and hook up U‑Haul trucks and trailers.
• Clean and inspect equipment on the lot and check fluid levels.
• Educate customers regarding products and services.
• Prepare rental invoices and accept equipment returned from rental.
• Install hitches and trailer wiring.
• Fill propane and forklift operation (certifications offered).
• Participate in ongoing U‑Haul education through U‑Haul University.
