Job description

Responsible for preparing the donor, donor area, and equipment for the pheresis processors.

You will report to the Assistant Center Manager.

1. The Role
2. Prepares the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
3. Monitors the donor and the pheresis process, responds to specific alarms or signals that may occur during the process.
4. Disconnects the donor when the process is complete.
5. Maintains alertness and awareness to any reactions the donor may have during or after the pheresis process and notifies appropriate staff.
6. Uses Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) to record incidents during the pheresis process, such as machine alerts, alarms, volume variances, and donor adverse events.
7. Links equipment and soft goods used in the pheresis process to the appropriate donor using PDA.
8. Alerts Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
9. Ensures accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system as per SOPs.
10. Understands policies and procedures related to hyper immune programs at the center, if applicable.
11. Maintains a clean and efficient work environment and ensures sufficient operating supplies and forms are available. Follows all Health Safety & Environmental (HSE) and OSHA policies and promotes safety in all actions.
12. Maintains confidentiality of all personnel, donor, and center information.
13. May be cross-trained in other areas to meet business needs.
14. Bilingual skills may be required, at the organization's discretion.
15. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Your Skills and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three (3) months work experience, preferably in a medical or health provider environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations.

Working Conditions

• Understand, remember, and apply oral and written instructions.
• Follow basic instructions and guidelines.
• Must be able to see and speak with customers and observe equipment operation.
• Occasionally perform tasks while standing and walking up to 100% of the time.
• Reach, bend, kneel, and have a high level of manual dexterity.
• Occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
• Work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
• Be exposed to hazardous chemicals, extreme temperatures, and bloodborne pathogens. Required to wear PPE in specific areas.
• Work overtime and extended hours to support operational needs.
