The Opportunity

Responsible for preparing the donor, donor area, and equipment for the pheresis processors. You will report to the Assistant Center Manager.

The Role

• Prepares the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitors the donor and the pheresis process, responds to alarms or signals during the process.
• Disconnects the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintains alertness to any donor reactions during or after the process and notifies staff.
• Uses PDA to record incidents, alarms, volume variances, and adverse events.
• Links equipment and soft goods to the donor using PDA.
• Alerts supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensures accurate recording of donor data in the electronic system per SOPs.
• Understands policies related to hyper immune programs if applicable.
• Maintains a clean, efficient work environment and ensures supplies are available.
• Follows all HSE and OSHA policies, promoting safety.
• Maintains confidentiality of personnel, donor, and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas and bilingual skills may be required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Your Skills and Experience

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience

• Minimum of 3 months’ work experience, preferably in a medical or health environment or equivalent education/experience.
• Basic math skills required.

Working Conditions

• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Must see, speak with customers, observe equipment.
• Stand and walk up to 100% of the time.
• Manual dexterity, reach, bend, kneel required.
• Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
• Fast-paced environment, exposure to chemicals, extreme temperatures, blood-borne pathogens.
• Wear PPE as required.
• Work overtime and extended hours as needed.
