The Opportunity

Responsible for preparing the donor, donor area, and equipment for the pheresis processors. You will report to the Assistant Center Manager.

The Role

1. Prepares the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
2. Monitors the donor and the pheresis process, responds to alarms or signals during the process.
3. Disconnects the donor when the process is complete.
4. Maintains alertness to donor reactions during or after the process and notifies staff as needed.
5. Records incidents during pheresis using PDA, including machine alerts, alarms, volume variances, and adverse events.
6. Links equipment and soft goods to the donor via PDA.
7. Alerts Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
8. Ensures accurate recording of donor data in the electronic system per SOPs.
9. Understanding policies related to hyper immune programs, if applicable.
10. Maintains a clean work environment and ensures supplies are available. Follows HSE and OSHA policies, promoting safety.
11. Maintains confidentiality of personnel, donor, and center information.
12. May be cross-trained in other areas; bilingual skills may be required.
13. Performs other duties as assigned.

Your Skills And Experience

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience

1. Minimum of three months’ work experience, preferably in a medical or health provider environment, or equivalent education and experience.
2. Basic math skills required.

Working Conditions

• Follow oral and written instructions.
• Observe equipment and communicate with customers.
• Stand and walk frequently, up to 100% of the time.
• Perform reaching, bending, kneeling, and manual dexterity tasks.
• Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
• Work in a fast-paced environment with interruptions.
• Exposure to chemicals, extreme temperatures, and bloodborne pathogens.
• Wear PPE as required.
• Work overtime and extended hours as needed.
