Job summary

Waupaca Foundry, Inc. is seeking a Customer Order Specialist to manage and optimize customer orders, ensuring accuracy of lead times, pricing, and quantities. You will resolve discrepancies by coordinating with internal teams and monitor statuses for timely updates.

The role requires 1–3 years in manufacturing customer service, with strong ERP/EDI skills and a focus on process improvements. This position offers growth within a leading iron castings producer and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of customer service experience in a manufacturing or foundry environment.
  • Proficiency with EDI systems and ERP software such as SAP, AS400, or Oracle.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to coordinate with internal teams to resolve order issues.

Responsibilities

  • Manage customer orders and ensure accuracy of lead times, terms, revision levels, quantities and pricing.
  • Resolve internal discrepancies by coordinating with internal teams.
  • Monitor order status and provide updates to customer-facing groups; address changes or delays.
  • Serve as a point of contact for internal teams related to orders.
  • Maintain accurate order records and issue resolutions using ERP systems.
  • Generate daily reports on order status, backlogs and shipping schedules for internal use.
  • Develop and maintain KPIs related to the position.
  • Work closely with production planning to align orders with manufacturing schedules.
  • Identify and troubleshoot order errors and notify internal teams as needed.
  • Interface with internal teams on pricing issues or parts becoming inactive or obsolete.
  • Suggest process improvements to enhance order accuracy, EDI functionality, and customer service efficiency.

Education:

High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical certification preferred.

Preferred experience: 1–3 years of customer service experience in a manufacturing or foundryenvironment.

Proficiency with EDI systems and ERP software (such as SAP, AS400, Oracle, or similar platforms) ispreferred.
