Food City in Athens, Alabama is seeking a dedicated team member to train new cashiers and courtesy clerks while delivering friendly, efficient service to every customer.

You will help keep checkout lines moving, assist with cash handling, and support cashiers with voids, refunds, and daily paperwork as part of a busy store team. Flexible schedules and opportunities to grow within a family-owned company are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service or retail is a plus.
• Ability to train others and communicate clearly.

• Train new cashiers and courtesy clerks in job-related areas.
• Keep checkout lines moving quickly and assist cashiers with duties.
• Assist with cash handling, voids, refunds, and daily paperwork.
• Support security and accuracy of cash operations.

Job description

Essential Job Functions:

• Provide efficient and courteous service to customers at all times.
• Provide training for new cashiers and courtesy clerks in all job related areas.
• Give produce test to authorized cash register operators on a weekly basis.
• Assist in keeping checkout lines moving as fast as possible.
• Assist cashiers in unloading the bottom of shopping carts.
• Obtain change for cashiers as needed.
• Approve checks.
• Accountable for security of all safe combinations entrusted to you.
• Maintain all proper paperwork.
• Assist cashiers with voids.
• Delegate cleaning duties to appropriate associates.
• Approve customer refunds.
• Regularly inspect cashier tills.
• Other duties may be assigned as needed.
