Sumitomo Electric Wiring Systems, Inc. in Scottsville, KY is hiring a Customer Service Clerk III for Production Control on the 1st shift.

The role focuses on handling customer orders, updating the MRP system, and coordinating with multiple departments to ensure timely ship dates and cost control. Ideal candidates will have a High School Diploma or GED with 5–7 years of clerical experience, plus familiarity with Excel and PowerPoint.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 5-7 years clerical experience.
• Associates Degree with 3-5 years in production control, material planning and/or warehouse operations.
• Customer Service experience / references.
• Excel and PowerPoint knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Receive and confirm customer orders and negotiate alternate ship dates and quantities.
• Manage customer setup information in MRP system and shared documents.
• Monitor Back Order Report and help reduce back orders and expedite costs.
• Review ship timing and freight methods with internal teams and 3rd parties.
• Assess stock levels and expedite orders; add fees for special ship requests.
• Coordinate replacement parts/QA recall with customers and internal QA/Shipping.
• Follow up on PPAP approvals with customers and internal QA to expedite shipping.
• Set up Customer/SEWS Cross Reference Product List.
• Collaborate daily with Production Control, Manufacturing, Planning, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance and Shipping to meet goals.
• Cross train in other Production Control areas to support peak periods.
• Assist Customer Service with invoicing and data entry; maintain logs and spreadsheets.
• Other duties as requested by Management

Customer Service Clerk III for Production Control 1st shift

Basic Position Duties

• Receive and confirm customer orders / Negotiate alternate ship dates and quantities when required / Enter manual orders as needed.
• Manage and maintain customers set up information in MRP system and shared documents for assigned areas.
• Monitor Back Order Report, help review stock levels and work with CS to reduce back orders and expedite costs.
• Review ship timing and freight methods/expense; collaborate with SVW and Third-Party WH.
• Assess stock levels and expedite orders with Management and add fees for special ship requests.
• Coordinate Replacement Parts/QA Recall with Customer & Internal QA/Shipping.
• Follow up on PPAP approvals with Customers and internal QA group to ship parts expeditiously; collaborate with SQA on quality issues to release parts for shipping.
• Set up Customer/SEWS Cross Reference Product List.
• Work with other members of Production Control, Manufacturing, Business Planning, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and Shipping Departments daily to meet all goals and targets for SEWS groups.
• Cross train in other Production Control associates areas in Customer Service to support during peak periods and absences.
• Help Customer Service with Invoicing, data entry (Holding, Expedite, debit, credits), keep up with logs and spreadsheets.
• Other duties as requested by Management

Position Requirements

Excel and PowerPoint knowledge.

Required - High School Diploma or GED along with 5-7 years clerical experience.

Preferred - Associates Degreewith 3-5 Years experience in production control, material planning and/or warehouse operations. Customer Service Experience / References
