Job summary

Vallarta Supermarkets is seeking a Courtesy Clerk to deliver outstanding customer service at the check stand, bag groceries, assist with carry-out, and help customers locate products. You will collect shopping carts, keep facilities clean, and maintain safe, welcoming premises.

Responsibilities include greeting customers, upholding Vallarta’s values, handling price checks, and supporting custodial tasks. The role requires a fast-paced, team-oriented attitude and flexible scheduling including

Qualifications

• Stand and walk constantly (6–8+ hours/day).
• Frequent bending, squatting, twisting, and reaching above/below shoulders.
• Lift and carry up to 25 lbs regularly, up to 40 lbs occasionally.
• Work in a fast-paced retail front-end with direct customer interaction.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and team members while delivering service per Vallarta’s six steps.
• Model Vallarta’s Core Values: customer service, commitment, integrity, respect, humility, teamwork.
• Bag groceries according to procedures and customer requests.
• Assist customers with carry-out and locating products in-store.
• Perform price checks as requested.
• Ensure carts are gathered safely and organized.
• Assist with spills, cleaning duties, and trash removal as trained.
• Maintain store perimeters and reporting safety hazards.
• Follow all store rules and policies; adhere to the Employee Handbook.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
