Choice Home Warranty is looking for technically minded, customer-focused professionals to join our Authorizations Team.
If you have experience in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, appliance repair, automotive repair, or computer repair and are ready to transition from the field into a professional office environment, this could be a great next step in your career.
As an Authorization Technician, you will use your technical knowledge and customer service skills to review warranty claims, communicate with service providers, explain coverage, and help determine the appropriate resolution for each service request.
This is an opportunity to put your technical experience to work without the physical demands of working in the field.
- 100% On-Site Position
- Hours: 11:30 AM - 8:00 PM
- No exceptions to scheduled hours
- No overnight shifts
- No travel or field service required
- No on-call responsibilities
What You'll Do
- Review customer warranty claims and service requests to determine coverage based on the terms and conditions of the service agreement.
- Communicate with field technicians and service providers regarding reported system, appliance, and equipment failures.
- Use your technical knowledge to understand diagnoses, repair recommendations, and reported failures.
- Explain warranty coverage, exclusions, and contract requirements clearly and professionally.
- Make accurate authorization and coverage decisions based on company guidelines and warranty terms.
- Communicate professionally with service providers while resolving questions, concerns, and coverage issues.
- Review repair recommendations and costs to ensure they align with company pricing and authorization guidelines.
- Work with vendors to negotiate appropriate repair costs while maintaining quality service.
- Handle a high volume of claims while maintaining accuracy, productivity, and excellent customer service.
- Document claim activity, decisions, and conversations accurately in company systems.
- Identify recurring vendor, repair, or pricing concerns and communicate trends to the appropriate internal teams.
- Educate service providers on company procedures, service expectations, and authorization requirements.
- Help ensure homeowners receive timely and appropriate resolutions to their service requests.
What We're Looking For
- 1-2 years of hands-on experience in HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Appliance Repair, Automotive Repair, or Computer Repair.
- Technical school graduates with relevant training will also be considered.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to communicate professionally with technicians, vendors, and internal teams.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to read, understand, and apply warranty contract terms and guidelines.
- Strong computer skills and typing ability.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple claims and conversations in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to remain professional and solution-oriented when handling difficult or complex situations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
