Goodwill Industries of New Jersey and Philadelphia’s Bordentown store in Bordentown, NJ 08620 is seeking a Donation-Utility Associate with Barcoder cross-training. The role pays $16.00 per hour and offers opportunities for growth through on-site training and development.

You will process transactions, engage customers, and maintain a clean, organized sales floor while supporting Round-Up donations for our job training and education initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Process register transactions and handle money accurately.
• Encourage customers to participate in Round-Up donations and aim for 40% Round-Up transaction average monthly.
• Greet customers, maintain a clean and organized store, and manage the register line efficiently.
• Receive cross-training as Donation-Utility Associate and Barcoder to grow professionally.
• Learn opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Stock and stock floor with newly processed merchandise.
• Maintain clean sales floor and dressing rooms, and set prices with store guidance.
• Operate store systems including phones and paging systems and make regular announcements.

Description

SPECIFIC DUTIES

1. Follow all Goodwill policies and safety procedures. Must possess professional etiquette.
2. Successfully process register transactions, handle money, count down a drawer, and ask every customer for a Round-Up donation. Must achieve 40% Round-Up transaction average every month.
3. Engages customers successfully using the following steps: a. Greet every customer 5 feet from you b. Focus on your customer c. Maintain a clean, neat, and organized store d. Walk, Talk, and Show e. Thank your customer for supporting our free job training and education initiatives f. Listen and respond appropriately to all customer concerns g. Engage customers at the register h. Effectively manage your register line i. Use good phone etiquette and answer within 3 rings j. Provide short, clear, timely announcements.
4. Will receive cross-training as Donation-Utility Associate and Barcoder to promote individual employee growth and maintain company productivity.
5. Train to complete opening and closing procedures as necessary.
6. Must stock and maintain sales floor with newly processed merchandise.
7. Maintain a clean, organized sales floor by recovering standards through sizing of merchandise and organization of wares and furniture.
8. Maintains sales floor by recovering sales floor and dressing rooms.
9. Establish or identify prices of goods via the type of merchandise, identifying markings, or asking for help from an on-site manager or supervisor.
10. Ability to utilize systems, including phones and paging systems and make regularly scheduled announcements.
11. Maintains interior and exterior of store in a neat, clean, and orderly manner (includes vacuuming, dusting, cleaning bathrooms, mopping floors, washing windows, etc.).
12. Must maintain a clean and neat personal appearance at all times. Must wear company issued uniform.
13. Regular attendance is required.
14. All other essential duties as assigned.
