Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores INC in La Vista, Nebraska is seeking a part-time Retail Associate to assist customers, process transactions, and keep the store clean and well-stocked. You will unload merchandise and replenish shelves while upholding safety and a friendly environment.

The role requires lifting 30–50 lbs, standing for extended periods, and reliable teamwork with leadership. This position offers flexible hours and opportunities for growth within a retail environment.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior retail/customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to lift 30-50 lbs and stand/walk for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
• Manage sales transactions at the cash register.
• Maintain store cleanliness and stock replenishment.
• Receive merchandise and unload trucks; stock replenishment per productivity standards.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Other duties as assigned.

Duties

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations Manage sales transactions while working assigned cash register Maintain security of cash and protect company assets Keep the store well-stocked, and recover merchandise Receive merchandise and help with unloading trucks, stock replenishment in accordance with productivity standards Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment while maintaining professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness throughout the store, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out the trash, and ensuring all areas are neat and presentable Other duties as assigned*

Skills and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred Previous customer service experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment is highly preferred Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents is required Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting Excellent customer service and relationship management skills are required Strong organizational and communication skills are required Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are required
