Job summary

Legacy Cooperative in Lakota, ND is seeking a Store Team Member to deliver friendly service at the register, assist customers on the floor and in the deli, and help with daily operations.

You will handle transactions, ensure food safety standards, stock shelves and deli cases, and work as part of a cooperative team to provide a reliable shopping experience.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Ability to learn POS and accounting systems.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • 3 months of experience as a Store Salesperson.

Responsibilities

  • Provide friendly, attentive customer service by greeting customers and ensuring a positive experience.
  • Complete accurate sales transactions including ringing up purchases, handling payments, processing fuel sales, and following cash-handling procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment by sanitation, cleaning equipment and work areas, and stocking shelves, coolers, and deli cases.
  • Support daily store operations such as stocking products, rotating inventory, checking dates, and assisting with opening/closing tasks.
  • Follow safety, food handling, and cooperative policies to ensure compliance with health regulations, store standards, and customer expectations.
  • Prepare, cook, and serve deli food items according to food safety standards, portion guidelines, and daily production needs.
  • Work as a reliable team member by communicating clearly, assisting coworkers during busy times, and being flexible across cashier, customer service, and deli duties.

Job description

The purpose of this role is to create a welcoming, reliable, and positive experience for every customer—whether at the register, on the sales floor, or in the deli. You support the store’s daily operations by providing friendly service, accurate transactions, and helpful assistance, while also preparing and serving fresh, high-quality food that our community can trust and enjoy.
