We sit alongside our colleagues at ASC Profiles as part of NS BlueScope Coated Products North America, a joint venture between BlueScope and Nippon Steel.**Primary Purpose**The purpose of this position is to provide support to the Customer Service Department by assisting with customer service representative backup coverage, order entry, generating and updating reports, helping customers with order status updates, following up with other departments on late orders, and managing coil cleanup and quotations.**Primary Duties & Responsibilities**In addition to complying with all safety and environmental policies and contributing to the company’s Zero Harm commitment, the Customer Service Assistant performs the following duties:* Assist in customer service representative backup coverage by being proficient in Steelscape product offerings, capabilities, and operational procedures.* Enter customer orders into order management software according to company policy and procedures, including the order confirmation process.* Generate, update, and load customer reports on a regular basis.* Perform follow-up tasks such as proofreading orders, reviewing held coils, clarifying orders, tracking delayed shipments, and coordinating with internal departments.* Support customer service and account managers by preparing or updating quotes using the web quote system.* Participate in special projects and contribute to process improvement initiatives.**Key Relationships*** Lead Customer Service Representative* Customer Service Representative* VP of Sales* Sales Managers* Account Managers* Sales Analysts* Support departments: production planning, operations, purchasing, credit, transport**Quantitative Scope*** No direct supervision of employees or vendors* No assigned payroll, budget, or revenue accountability* No authorization to spend company funds**Education & Experience Qualifications****Minimum:*** High School diploma or GED* 2+ years of customer service or front office experience* Proficient use of office machinery such as copier and scanner* Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook* Excellent written and verbal communication skills* Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively* Team-oriented and highly motivated**Preferred:*** Experience using SAP**Skills & Competencies*** Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations* Strong multitasking and organizational skills* Sense of urgency and proactive approach* Customer service mindset* Excellent communication abilities* Ability to follow BlueScope safety protocols* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite***Salary Range: This position's estimated hourly rate of pay is $20.78 - $28.58.
