Geartrade in West Valley City, UT is hiring for a hybrid Customer Service and Consignment Intake role. The position splits two to three days of customer service duties with two to three days handling consignment intake at our Salt Lake City warehouse.

You will respond to customer inquiries by email, process transactions, verify item authenticity, write product descriptions, and maintain accurate records. You should be detail-oriented and able to work independently or with the team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in a related field is a plus.
• Previous experience in retail, customer service, consignment, or outdoor-oriented field.

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and motivated person interested in a hybrid role combining our Customer Service and Consignment Intake Specialist roles to join our team.

Job Description:

Customer Service Representative:Two to three weekdays, you will focus on customer service, primarily responding to customer inquiries via email. Your responsibilities will include assisting customers with their orders, addressing any issues they encounter, and facilitating communication between buyers and sellers. While most communication is handled via email, you will occasionally make phone calls to provide a more personalized experience.

Consignment Intake Specialist:Two to three weekdays, your role will shift to consignment intake at our Salt Lake City warehouse. Here, you will be responsible for the initial processing of consigned products. This includes verifying the authenticity of items, conducting product research, writing detailed and accurate product descriptions, and assessing the condition of each item. This part of the role requires a sharp eye for detail, strong research skills, and the ability to create engaging and precise product copy.

Ideal Candidate:The perfect candidate for this role is an outdoor enthusiast with a passion for gear, who excels in both customer service and product assessment. You should be comfortable working independently, and equally at ease working in a team environment at our warehouse. • Maintain detailed records of all consigned items.

Condition Assessment:

• Assess the condition of each product and assign a grade based on established criteria.
• Write detailed descriptions of the product condition, noting any wear, tear, or defects.
• Provide recommendations for pricing based on condition and market value.
