Customer Quality & Facilities Project Coordinator

SUMMARY

This position as Customer quality and facility project coordinator helps manage first article (FAI) processes, customer quality trackers, and customer compliance requirements with the key Semiconductor OEM customers and internal stakeholders to ensure successful completion of the processes. He/she will also be responsible for coordinating any Silicon Valley Innovation Center (SVIC) related facility requirements and projects within the company, with external suppliers, and the landlord.

Must be highly motivated, organized, and capable of multi‑tasking several projects or efforts at any given time. Responsibilities include working hand‑in‑hand with other SVIC team members, facility and EHS teams, customer quality engineers, product management, engineering, purchasing, external vendors, and the facility landlord.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None.

Duties
  • Manages the first article process with the key Semiconductor OEM customers. Responsible for internal coordination ensuring all the necessary information and reports are available from the respective internal stakeholders.
  • Organizes the data submission to ensure timely completion according to the customer requirements.
  • Organizes and tracks customer quality metrics.
  • Tracks and follows through with internal stakeholders to complete all customer compliance requirements and deadlines.
  • Acts as the key representative for Pfeiffer on all Silicon Valley Innovation Center (SVIC) facility maintenance, repairs, and projects with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and landlord to ensure smooth execution and completion according to the budget, project requirements, and timeline.
  • Travel should be minimum (<5%) but may require occasional visits to vendors and to attend corporate meetings.

Physical Demands: Tasks require walking, sitting, bending, reaching, mobility, frequent lifting and pushing/pulling. Work requires computer skills (word processing, spreadsheet, and data‑entry), attention to detail and accuracy. Communication skills including listening and speaking are required for interaction with other employees, vendors, and customers. Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to balance multiple tasks and any stress associated with the duties and responsibilities of this position are essential.

Secondary duties with added requirements may be assigned from time to time.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

General Qualifications
  • Must have very strong organizational and time‑management skills to prioritize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Must have ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with coworkers, customers, vendors, and other departmental personnel in a professional and positive manner.
  • Requires ability to accurately input, manipulate and access information using moderately complex computers and software programs; with minimum software requirements being Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (or equivalent).
  • Requires strong ability to work with others to share specific knowledge of work processes, and/or procedures in order to continuously make improvements.
Education and/or Experience
  • High School graduate with > 8 years of similar work experience for an engineering/manufacturing company.
  • Associate degree in Business Administration, social science, or a technical field; with >4 years of relevant work experience in an engineering/manufacturing company.
Language Skills

Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.

Reasoning Ability

Must be able to multitask and operate in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining a disciplined approach to oversee employer and customers’ needs. Works on assignments that are time sensitive by nature. Must be able to solve both practical and complex problems and deal with a variety of factors.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position may work in various environments including office, warehouse, and laboratory settings.

85% inside, climate / noise‑controlled office, and 15% in laboratory, warehouse environment, or traveling; lifting to 50 lbs. on occasion. Eye and hearing protection may be required in manufacturing areas; and additional protective clothing may be required when visiting customer sites.
