Job summary

Sika is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join the Grandview, MO Automotive and Industry team. You will ensure Injection Mold production efficiency through design, development, and on-site support at customers and Grandview.

You will lead, resolve, and close customer issues with cross-functional teams and drive APQP/AQP activities for new products. Key responsibilities include maintaining quality metrics, PPAP submissions, and coordinating containment actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.
• 5 years of experience in quality assurance or related experience.
• Solid working knowledge of quality principles, audit protocols, inspection procedures, PPAP.
• Knowledge of continuous improvement tools/processes to participate in projects across functional areas of the business to resolve supplier issues.
• Well organized.
• Solid interpersonal and follow up skills.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as customer representative for product issues (quality, deliveries and other customer requests).
• Lead and direct customer issues to closure, by gathering appropriate teams and problem-solving using tools such as 8Ds, 5Ps, DWDP, 5-Whys and other such documents, per customer requirements.
• Maintain daily quality (PPM and other targets) and cost data for all customers as well as at the Grandview plant level.
• Fulfills all new parts submission (PPAP) requirements.
• Provide on-site problem resolution at customer locations.
• Coordinate quarantine and containment actions at the customer locations and Grandview plant.
• Work closely with the Launch Department to perform APQP for new product launches and AQP for product/process changes.
• Coordinate, lead, facilitate and coach efforts within all Sika Operations to achieve and maintain customer satisfaction.
• Develop, implement, and deploy methods of communication of customer performance.
• Champion continuous improvement efforts to assure continued customer satisfaction.
• Develop, coordinate, and implement projects to improve efficiency and decrease scrap.
• Provide leadership to attain Customer Quality Awards.
