Job summary

South Jersey Industries (SJI) seeks a Customer Outreach Specialist to provide information on LIHEAP, USF, NJ Shares, PAGE and LIFELINE and to handle intake at community events and payment centers across South Jersey Gas service territory.

You will work with Energy Assistance departments, Outreach teams, and other divisions to deliver targeted outreach. Strong communication skills and CRM familiarity are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

• Input and process customer USFHEA applications in CRM and follow up with customers.
• Document/update customer accounts in CRM (Customer Care & Billing).
• Collaborate with Outreach team and Energy Assistance departments on outreach initiatives.
• Manage and respond to internal and external requests.
• Perform other tasks to support day-to-day activities.
• Travel to events or service centers as needed.

Position Summary

The role of the Customer Outreach Specialist is to provide financial assistance information to customers and to conduct the intake process at community events and payment centers throughout South Jersey Gas service territory. The Outreach Department will provide information of the following programs LIHEAP (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program), USF (Universal Service Fund), NJ Shares, PAGE and LIFELINE. They will work alongside various department such as Energy Efficiency and 811 to better bring information to our customers. There are various means of outreach to share information with our customer base including grass roots outreach, partnerships, marketing communications, social media outreach and individualized customer level outreach. This role is a brand ambassador for the company and is a valuable resource to the communities we serve.

Essential Duties:

• Input and process customer USFHEA applications in CRM and complete any necessary follow up with the customer.


• Document/update customer accounts in our CCB system (Customer Care & Billing)


• Collaboration with Outreach team and in-house Energy Assistance departments on targeted outreach initiatives


• Manage and respond to internal and external requests


• Perform other tasks as assigned to support day-to-day activities


• Required to travel to events or customer service centers in our service territory, as needed.

Qualifications

Required Background:

• Bachelor's degree with 0 years of relevant experience,


• Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Required Skills:

• Basic knowledge of Energy Assistance Programs (USF/HEA)

Preferred Skills:

• Bilingual


• Knowledge/Experience of CRM application portal

Compensation Range:

$50,250 - 80,400 We are committed to pay transparency and ensuring equitability compensation for all employees. The pay range for this position reflects the base salary only and does not include benefits, bonuses, or other forms of compensation that might be part of the total compensation package. The specific salary offered will be based on a candidate's qualifications, education, and experience.
