Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Sales Associate in New York to assist customers, guide them to merchandise, operate the cash register, stock shelves, and help maintain store appearance to maximize profitability and satisfaction.

You will greet customers, process transactions, follow planogram guidance, and handle basic cash procedures while maintaining safety and a clean sales floor. Relocation is not available for this position.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service, greet and assist customers.
• Operate register, total purchases, collect payment and make change.
• Stock shelves, restock, and arrange merchandise displays.
• Keep store clean, run trash, dust and mop floors, and support displays.
