Job summary

Dollar General is looking for a Sales Associate in New York to be the friendly point of contact for customers, help them locate and purchase merchandise, operate the cash register, stock shelves, and maintain the store's appearance to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.

The role requires strong communication, basic math, and safe cash-handling practices, with physical duties such as lifting up to 40 pounds in a fast‑paced retail environment. Relocation is not offered.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service, greet and assist customers.
• Operate cash register and scanner to itemize and total customer's purchase, collect payment from customers and make change, bag merchandise, and assist customers with merchandise as necessary.
• Follow company merchandise processes; unpack, stock, restock, and rotate merchandise on shelves and build merchandise displays.
• Clean the store, take out trash, dust and mop store floors, clean restroom and receiving room, and help set up sidewalk displays.
