Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Sales Associate to be the first point of contact for customers, assisting with locating and purchasing merchandise, operating the cash register, stocking shelves, and maintaining a clean store environment. This role supports profitability and customer satisfaction while protecting company assets.

You will greet customers, handle checkout using the scanner, follow planograms, stock merchandise, and help with displays.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Understands and follows safety policies and practices.
• Able to read and follow planograms and merchandise presentation guides.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Performs basic math.
• Capable of operating cash register functions.
• Capable of stocking merchandise.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service, greet and assist customers.
• Operate cash register and scanner to itemize and total purchases, collect payment, make change, bag merchandise.
• Follow merchandising processes; unpack, stock, rotate merchandise on shelves, build displays.
• Clean the store, take out trash, dust and mop floors, clean restrooms and receiving area, set up sidewalk displays.
