Job summary

Dollar General in New York is seeking a Sales Associate to be the primary point of contact for customers, assisting with locating and purchasing merchandise, operating the cash register, stocking shelves, recovering merchandise, and ensuring the store runs smoothly.

You will greet customers, handle transactions, follow plan-o-gram guides, maintain safety standards, and support store goals while protecting company assets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service, greet and assist customers.
• Operate cash register and scanner to total purchases, collect payment, bag merchandise.
• Follow merchandising processes; stock, restock, and rotate goods and displays.
• Clean the store, take out trash, and help set up displays.
• Assist with unloading trucks and stocking merchandise.
