Job summary

Heart of Texas Goodwill Industries is seeking a courteous cashier to provide excellent customer service and accurately process purchases in a retail environment.

The role requires working with cash handling procedures, operating a POS system, and supporting store operations to maintain a clean, organized, and customer-friendly sales floor. Prior cash-handling experience is preferred, and a high school diploma or equivalent is commonly required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but all educational backgrounds considered.
• Up to one month of related retail, cashiering, customer service, or related experience or training preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education, experience, and training may be considered.
• Previous cash-handling or POS experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greets customers as they enter the store.
• Counts cash drawer at the beginning and end of shift; handles deposits.
• Maintains display areas, racks, shelves, and restocks merchandise.
• Operates cash register/POS system and related store equipment.
• Monitors dressing rooms and restrooms; reports issues to management.
• Observes for theft and other security concerns and reports to management.
