Big 5 Sporting Goods in California is seeking a friendly cashier to operate the front counter POS system and deliver an outstanding shopping experience for every customer. You will welcome customers, assist with inquiries, process transactions, handle cash, bag purchases, and keep the sales floor clean, organized, and well stocked.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must possess basic organizational and/or applicable math skills.
• Detail-oriented and reliable.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic knowledge of sporting goods is a plus.
• Upon accepting a position offered, candidate will be subject to E-Verify.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service by welcoming and assisting customers during entry and exit, ensuring a positive shopping experience
• Direction of sales associates using the PA system
• Answer phone calls and respond to customer inquiries
• Recommend products and suggest add-on sales
• Cash-handling and bagging of purchased merchandise
• Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked sales floor
• Performs or may perform additional duties as assigned by management and supervision
