Job summary

Responsibilities

• Process customer transactions accurately in a timely, friendly manner (credit cards, cash, checks).
• Greet customers entering and exiting the store to create a friendly impression.
• Verify merchandise quantities, descriptions and prices at checkout.
• Handle returns, exchanges and sales of merchandise.
• Answer incoming phone calls promptly and courteously.
• Receive payments on commercial accounts and assist with credit applications.
• Count cash, prepare deposits, and organize the drawer for the next day.
• Direct customers to items and call for additional help as needed.
• Maintain cash controls to protect company assets.
• Keep the store clean and stock items in overhead areas as required.
• Follow cashier procedures and work a flexible schedule.
